At the foot of Mt. Gerizim, surrounded by orchards, Amsha spring flows into three separate wading pools all the year round. The pools are large and shallow and can be enjoyed by the whole family.

This recreation site was named in memory of Amsha Meshulami who was killed in Lebanon, and is very popular among hikers and picnickers. There is a large parking area, shaded picnic tables and barbecue grills.

How to get there:

At the Mahane Horon junction on Route 555, turn west, following the sign to Har Brakha. About one kilometer up the slope there is a left turn onto a dirt road to the parking lot. The first pool is visible from the parking lot, and the second pool is just beyond the first.

HaElot (Atlantic Pistacia) Reserve is to the south of the spring. The pistacia trees, which are a rare sight in this region, surround the tomb of a sheikh.

A scenic lookout at the summit of Har Brakha offers a spectacular view of the surrounding area, including Joseph’s Tomb in Shechem (Nablus), to the north, and above Har Brakha is the Samaritan neighborhood, with a museum to the Samaritan culture.
