En Kfir

En Kfir

At the foot of Mt. Kabir, near Elon More, this beautiful spring gushes out of the depths of the mountain. An ancient aqueduct leads to the spring, which the Arabs call En el Kabira – the great spring.

A wading pool with shaded areas, picnic tables and parking space were built here in memory of Kfir Hezi of Elon More, who was killed in Lebanon.

How to get there:

Drive up the road leading to Elon More. About a kilometer before the community, in the middle of a sharp curve to the left there is a large parking area on the left-hand side of the road, with a path leading to the wading pools.

Feeling adventurous? Take a walk through the water!

A unique activity at this site is a walk through the water to the spring via the aqueduct which starts on the other side of the road. You don’t even have to cross the road – just go through the aqueduct under the road. A few meters to the south you will see the entrance to the spring. This amazing tunnel, which was built nearly 2,000 years ago, is about 50 meters long and its walls and arched ceiling are made of chiseled stones.

Don’t forget to bring water shoes and flashlights!

We hope you will enjoy a picnic among the olive trees, in the relaxing atmosphere of the clear mountain air.
